My family joined my Grandparents this year at a Memorial Day ceremony in Citrus Heights. Although we had a great time, this post is more about my Grandfather than about that day. As you might have noticed, this post is shorter than usual photographically. In fact, there is only one picture, but this one picture details the life of a great man beautifully. The hat - a Navy Veteran. The flags - pride in being an American and serving his country. Because we have insight to who was with him that day - The smile - because he's spending this great day with the family he loves. The wrinkles - although he dislikes them, depict his wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. He has been many places, seen and experienced many things. What we cannot see from this picture are his hands. I can tell you with all honesty, they are the hands of a servant. Thanks "Papa" for the example you have been and thank God you continue to be.

Brian Leighton, who also happens to be my Dad, has a crazy passion for the sport of Triathlon. For those of you who know him, no further explanation is required. But... for those of you that do not, take my word for it when I say he is passionate about his past time. More than a past time though, Triathlon is a lifestyle for Brian. It is his way to extinguish his competitive fire, an escape from the world, and his way to stay healthy and in shape. It is deeper than any hobby could ever be, yet does not consume him. So, in my attempt to show the passion Brian has in his chosen lifestyle, these images were created... hopefully to your enjoyment!

So I took my cousins to the local train yard and we did a little Mafia themed photo shoot. We had a blast, did our best to stay out of trouble with the local train yard employees, and ended up with great results. These boys are serious... and we had some serious fun. Hope you enjoy my favorite photo shoot to date.
On June 3rd, 2010 I did a photo shoot with Travis Hoehne... again. We started out at the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco and later moved down to Baker Beach. It was my first time at both locations, and I can tell you I will be shooting there again. Both locations were perfect spots. Shelley and Tom were comfortable in front of the camera beginning with the first shot.. simply naturals. Thanks guys for making it fun. Congratulations and we look forward to the big day. Enjoy!
