Exciting news! I got new photo gear! I know, I know... youre probably saying to yourself right about now, "wow, this kid is low on exciting events in his life if all he has to blog about is the latest photo gear he has purchased." But let me explain myself, and maybe this excitement will make a little more sense. At least... the justification makes sense in my mind, and that's really all that matters. So as you may know, photography and cinematography is a relatively new adventure in my life. I picked it up a little over a year ago, and now all of the sudden I'm doing this stuff full time. My whole childhood was filled with dreams of becoming a professional baseball player, possibly a fighter pilot for the navy, and if those dreams didn't come through then I was going to be an architect. Well... I realized I was too retarded in math to be a fighter pilot, and baseball as many of you may know, just didn't work out right up till the last minute. The architect thing went out the window with the college I chose (they didn't offer it), and so as college came to a close I was just going to be a businessman. Which, there is nothing wrong with by the way, I still kind of am, but that whole suit and tie thing just wasn't for me in turned out. My senior year of college arrived and come to find out I had a talent in photography. I got in touch with Travis Hoehne and now I work full time as a photographer and cinematographer. I've started my own business called Still Light Photo, welcome! I'm in the process of starting my most exciting endeavor, Go Photo. More news of that to come later. Back to my point though. WHAT HAPPENED! I went from a fighter pilot/professional baseball player to a photographer?! This is not how it was supposed to turn out right? Wrong! I would not have changed a thing. I can honestly say this is the best career choice I could have ever made, not because I'm making millions, not by a long shot, but because I've found my true passion. When I'm shooting I'm at peace. When I'm not, I can't wait for the next opportunity to pick up a camera. The ability to freeze a moment in time, to STILL LIGHT ;) is simply a joy. Once frozen those moments have a chance to last for ages. I absolutely love what I do and I am so very excited to see what lies ahead. Go Photo is what I look forward to the most. It's exciting, and that is why my excitement for new gear is so great. This new gears signifies my professionalism as a photographer. I've claimed it, this is a part of my identity now, and I'm going to run with it. I've jumped in and now the fun begins.

This summer I have been fortunate enough to shoot a handful of weddings, and counting, with Travis Hoehne. If you haven't seen his stuff you need to go to his website, or blog, right now and check his stuff out because the fool is amazing. I'm learning a ton and having the time of my life. Oh, and trust me when I say, I've had a great life so far... so what does that tell you? Anyways, Rebecca and Scott had a celebration to remember. Their wedding took place in Napa Valley, who wouldn't want to get married in such a beautiful place? On top of that, the weather was spectacular. You couldn't have asked for a better day. Here are some of the shots I got that fateful day. Congrats Rebecca and Scott, and good luck on the exciting adventure ahead. Enjoy!
