2011 has been an amazing year for both Still Light Photo, Go Photo Ministries, and me personally. I started Wallpaper Wednesday at the end of last year, so 2011 was my first full year with the project. I love photography, and I'm so blessed to get paid to do what I love. But going into this career choice I wanted to make sure I never got burned out. I started Wallpaper Wednesday as a means to escape photography as a job, and get back to the basics of creating images simply because it brings me joy. I'm a firm believer that we are created beings, we are created in the image of a creator, and because we are created in the image of our creator, we are created to be creators ourselves. Re-read that sentence for me... I think it makes sense. :) Anyways, I've had an absolute blast with the project and it will definitely carry over into next year. I wanted to take a look back and show everyone where Wallpaper Wednesday has been in 2011. There were some great photos, I think anyways, but I've selected my favorites as we take a look back on the year. 2011 wasn't just successful for Wallpaper Wednesday, but for my life as a whole. Go Photo Ministries took it's first trip to Nicaragua in April. I'm excited to say Go Photo will be serving 58ten in February. I can't wait for the trip. 58ten is a ministry that is building orphanages in Kenya. I'm super excited to partner with their organization. Please keep their ministry in your prayers. My prayer is that Go Photo would be a blessing to their organization and they would grow to heights only God can achieve for His glory. 2011 also brought some crazy change into my personal life. I'm an engaged man and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. It's going to be awesome!!! All in all, 2011 was a memorable year. I'm excited anticipating what 2012 will bring. Spoiler alert... keep an eye out for more personal work. I'll be adding a new project in 2012 called iPhone Photo Friday. So excited! Before we enter the new year though, let's take a look back on my favorite 2011 Wallpaper Wednesdays. Enjoy!!!

This is the last Wallpaper Wednesday I will be giving away this year! Don't worry though, with the new year comes new Wednesdays. For the last Wallpaper Wednesday of 2011 I wanted to start a new project that would carry over into 2012. Sadly though, my camera is in the shop for it's annual, end of the year check-up. So, I will be creating the next three weeks Wallpapers using Photoshop. Now for my cheesy, artsy explanation for how I was inspired to create the following three weeks wallpapers. So here it goes. I saw a Bokeh image on another photographers website, and I wanted to create it digitally. I love Bokeh. If you you are wondering what bokeh is, just click on the word bokeh any time you see the word throughout this write-up. You're welcome, I've linked each word to a Google Images search of the word bokeh. If you can't figure out what it is by the photos in that search... I'm sure you'll figure it out. Anyways, its a photography term... and I love when it happens. Let me rephrase that, I love creating photos with that as a background. Generally, bokeh is best achieved using lenses with a super low aperture. In other words, really expensive lenses. But, since I do not have my super expensive camera available, I decided to create my own bokeh in photoshop. Now, I can absolutely take credit for the wallpaper you see here. I cannot however take credit for the "how to." I did follow a tutorial on how to create bokeh in Photoshop. Photoshop has something in common with the Bible, in that there is always something new to learn. Creating things using Photoshop is my way of better learning my trade. Now, back to the artsy fartsy crap... Actually I think that's all I had to say. I love bokeh. It gives images a nice backdrop, forcing the eye to fall back on your subject. Plus, it makes a really cool orange Wallpaper Wednesday. Keep an eye out for The Bokeh Project the next three weeks. If you want to download the full file click here: www.facebook.com/slp2011 Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!!! Christmas is just four days away and... well, I just can't believe how fast this year went. This week concludes The Coffee Bean Project. As I stated in my two earlier posts, the photos progressively get more festive I know that is probably obvious to you by now. So, since I've already spoken twice on this Project I won't bother you further with my ramblings. All I want to say this week is Merry Christmas!!! Have a great weekend celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ!!! If you'd like to download the full file click here: www.facebook.com/slp2011 Enjoy!

It's Wallpaper Wednesday again and as promised last week I'm continuing The Coffee Bean Project. I'm really excited to share this weeks photo. As I said last week, the festive-ness increases with each weeks photo leading up to Christmas week. This weeks festive-ness increases due to a fun, festive color. Yes, throughout this extent of this project I will use the word festive... or another variation of the word, as many times as possible. Hope you enjoy week two of The Coffee Bean project. Stay tuned next week when the saga comes to a close. To download the full file click here: www.facebook.com/slp2011 Enjoy!

Sorry I'm late on Wallpaper Wednesday this week but I assure you I won't be late the next three weeks. The photos are already taken. Ever since I started Wallpaper Wednesday however long ago, it's been a while now, I've always sought to bring my followers something fun and different that they could drop on their computer, or mobile device backgrounds. The next three weeks will mark the first time I've ever given away an entire photo project. In the past I've always given away one random image for your backgrounds. The next three weeks are going to be different. To go along with the Christmas season the photos will progressively get more festive. Their main theme though will remain the same. Coffee Beans. I recently started experimenting with coffee myself. My experience has yet to surpass 2 cups in a single week, but the last thing I want is to down two pots in the morning. That just doesn't seem healthy. If you disagree with me, well you might just be an addict. Anyways, like I said the next three weeks leading up to Christmas week will be a single project growing in festive-ness (no I don't know if that's a word). Let the yummy-ness begin.
